Miss New Jersey Super Teen and Super Miss 2008 pageants

Today I judged the 2008 Miss New Jersey Super Teen and Super Miss pageants, what a fun day. Pageants have introduced me to some amazing people, competing and judging. It was truly my pleasure meeting you all today, Sal Patane who is a very talented stylist at Salon Suede (I know that from experience with his work,) Andrea Arena who is a Mezzo Soprano with a voice that gave me chills up my spine (she performed,) Assemblywoman Nilsa Cruz-Perez a very accomplished and impressive woman in New Jersey and our judges chairperson Cathy Clark a former Ms New Jersey Senior. It was a pleasure being a part of the day and meeting you all, I look forward to our paths crossing in the future!! Good luck and congratulations to the winners Samantha Moore Miss and Kacey Bohrer Teen.

Salvation Army Citadel

What a great visit to the Citadel Salvation Army, Their program director Monica does an amazing job with these children. After speaking with Monica about my aspirations in life and my journey along the way, she invited me back over the summer to speak with the children again in their summer nutrition and health program. She also invited me back in the summer to speak with the older children about my career path, the importance of being ambitious and how to overcome the obstacles that may surround you, this to me is an honor and I will be returning there this summer to have a motivational speaking opportunity with them.

Back at Cold Springs Elementary

I was back at Cold Springs Elementary school today for the 2nd grade presentations. It was a productive day, I really felt I made and impact on their oral health choices today. A special thanks to Mr. Young for escorting me to all my classroom's each week and for the teachers who bring me into their classroom's to educate their children.

March of Dimes "Bowl for Babies " event 2008

What a fun night! I spent the night bowling with my husband and our family all for a good cause. We put together a ladies team and a gentleman's team, I did get a strike on my very first attempt tonight, how exciting that was. I spent most of the night meeting people involved with the March of Dimes and taking pictures with the rest of the bowlers, what a fun event. The bowling shoes were really not bad, I would wear them with a fun t-shirt for a casual day out!! Thank you Ashley from the March of Dimes for asking me to make an appearance. I am very happy to help the community in any way I can.
