Back at Walnut Street

I returned to Walnut Street today for 1st grade presentations. The Kindergarten classes presented me with a nice thank you banner from my last visit with them. A special thanks to my new friend Seven, she was a great helper for me today, escorting me to the 1st grade classes. This six year old girl has a magnetic personality, I just enjoyed her smile and warmth from the 1st moment I met her in the cafeteria. All the students were a pleasure to meet at Walnut Street, it is nice to see their little personalities already developing. I will be back at Walnut Street this summer to say hello and update all the kids on my competition in Chicago.

Walnut Street Elementary School

I sat in the very same Kindergarten class today that I sat in about 30 years ago. This was a very special school visit for me today to say the least. A few weeks ago my local newspaper here in New Jersey printed a front page article about me and my children's oral health presentations. A few days later I received an E-Mail from a teacher in Darby Borough, where I grew up, commending me for my efforts with the children and inquiring where I went to grade school. Here she teaches at Walnut Street, where I went to grade school, she asked if I would come there to do my presentation for inspirational and educational purposes. I had such a great day today, the children were so sweet, they cheered for me as I walked through the cafeteria, what an inspirational visit for the children and for myself. I remember my challenges I faced growing up and I am thankful for them every day, they will always be with me, in a good way, I am me because of them. What an amazing team of teachers I met today, you can tell they truly care about the students, after all they reached out to me to bring something special to their children. A special thanks to Maryellen Turner for caring enough!!! I'll be back in a few weeks Walnut Street.

Dining out for Life 2008 Philadelphia

A special thanks to Julie form Capital One Financing, Dr Cirka (my boss & friend) and Dr Brown (the most talented periodontist in Philadelphia) for hosting this event. We had a great dinner out at Tangerine in Philadelphia with some great friends (co-workers) all benefiting a good cause. We have made this an annual tradition between these 2 dental offices, this year Mrs. New Jersey International (me) showed her support for helping to fight AIDS which was a nice addition to the event. Iam so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people each day, my co-workers are my 2nd family, I love you guys!!!
